happy birthday baby Jesus.

It's Christmas day.
I woke up around one in the afternoon and have since plunked my butt in front of the television to sit through a marathon of Indiana Jones and gobbled up broken morsels of gingerbread from last night's artful engineering.  Ah, the holidays.  Dare I venture to say that I'm slightly looking forward to non-holiday music playing everywhere I go, overplayed commercials promising me that I'll find the "perfect gift," ridiculous traffic, ad nauseam.

Still, it's nice to be with family and finally have a reason for friends to be around -- away from the busy-ness of general life maintenance.  You always get used to the nostalgia of something right before you need to say goodbye to it.  With the official end of the year coming up so soon, I'm sure that there will be a lot of goodbyes being said. Once again.  Although today proved itself to be fairly doldrum (my parents ditched me to go to Disneyland, the nerve, right?), yesterday was filled with fun holiday festivities.  We went over to Cheryl & Jon's place to make gingerbread houses, open presents, and see the first showing of Les Mis.  I think I'm still recovering from three days worth of a sugar high, which may be the reason I can't shake off these z's.

 Enjoy your Christmas.
