Bob L'Eponge

Dayanita Ramesh and Hannah Cole, this is for you. For all the times you would quote our dearly beloved sponge in Coach Thomas's Art Class and all the times I would laugh along without fully comprehending what I was laughing at. Who would have thought that Spongebob Squarepants would make his popularity known even in France? Bob L'eponge, he is called, and his crew of sea critter friends made it to Paris with his own gallery exhibition teaching children how to conserve water and protect the environment. I first heard about this exhibition in the metro, as it was one of the advertisements that I pass by on my way to school everyday and was so thrilled to go because it is being taken down in just a few weeks.

They were playing episodes in those boxes.

A wall full of children's renditions.

There were a bunch of pieces, but these two were my favorite, of course!

At the end, there was also a theatre where we watched 2 spongebob episodes in French. The humor doesn't always translate, but it was still nice to get a snippet of home, however ridiculous it might be ;)
