Portugal, Finale

Our final stop in Portugal was a southern seaside town called Lagos.  At first we were a meandering bunch, winding up and down neighboring residential side streets with nary a clue as to our directional accuracy.  Then, when we finally reached the city, I was positive we took a wrong turn.  We had done some prior online research, and all the results turned up with "the most beautiful landscapes in Portugal," and "Top Something-Or-Other Places to See," but all we saw were tourists and old apartment buildings.  The next day, however, we drove to the cliffs, and I decided that the internet is never wrong.  This was, indeed, one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.

We yelled off of the cliffs.

We ate at this cafeteria-esque Portuguese restaurant.
I ordered some tiger prawns and salted cod.
Again, it was nice to be cultural, but I would not go to this place again.
Apparently the Portuguese don't believe in air ventilation.

Cape St. Vincent: the southwesternmost point of Europe.

We woke up on our last day to watch the sunrise.

Then we drove to see these red cliffs by the ocean.

That, my friends, concludes our tour of Portugal.  It was a grand adventure of a lifetime, and highly recommended from yours truly as your next vacation destination.  For the urbanite, the sea-bottom dweller, the mountain climber, the foodie, etc.  Portugal is a country full of surprises and so unlike any of its European neighbors (in a good way).

PS. A short video of our "ha"s.  Something you learn at G42 is to find your "ha" -- to shout using your God-given voice.  Kind of like when God put the "ha" in Abram to become "Abraham"  ;)
